The Categories
This year's competition is open to all NHS staff at our member organisations and innovative SMEs across the East of England, East Midlands and London who have a new product or service which will benefit patients and improve healthcare delivery.
The categories for 2017 are as follows:
1.Medical Technology
2.Service Improvement
3.Innovation in Primary Care
4.Small and Medium‐sized Enterprises (SME's) Innovation
5.Diabetes - Supported by a sponsorship from Roche Diabetes Care Limited
6.Clinical Entrepreneur of the Year - Supported by the Eastern AHSN

The Prizes
Winners of each category stand to share a record prize fund of £18,000 which can be used towards the further development of their winning innovation. Winner(s) of the Diabetes category, sponsored by Roche Diabetes Care Limited will receive a educational grant for the further development of their innovative idea.
Colleagues can also access expert advice from the team at HEE, who will also support any eligible winners to apply for the Medtech Accelerator.
A new proof of concept awards scheme, the Medtech Accelerator is a separate application process looking to help progress medical technology and software innovations developed primarily from within the NHS.
Awards from the Medtech Accelerator are on offer between £15,000 and £125,000 to innovations that show the greatest promise.

Category Descriptions
An Evening of Celebration
Shortlisted entries in each of the six categories will be invited to an awards dinner at the beautiful surroundings of Sturmer Hall on Wednesday 20 September to announce winners and celebrate the finest ideas from colleagues across the region.
