Training for NHS staff

NHS Innovations East run free training events to help NHS staff from a variety of disciplines to acquire new skills, many of which can be used when promoting or progressing new ideas.

Mission Possible III

Returning for 2010 the "Mission Possible" workshops are designed to equip NHS staff from any discipline with effective writing skills so they have the know-how and confidence to produce effective documentation that results in positive action.

These new skills can be used for communicating new ideas to colleagues and managers, so that the key benefits of the ideas are clearly communicated to those individuals required to take it further. They are also invaluable when producing any kind of documentation, including reports, letters, e-mails, fliers, posters etc.

The workshops, which are open to all NHS staff and FREE to attend, are restricted to 30 delegates. Led by John Drewry attendees are lead through a number of insightful modules and practical exercises during this informal and friendly workshop.

This year's workshops take place from 10.00am to 4.00pm at the following venues and include parking and lunch:

UEA Sportspark,  Norwich
Tuesday 23rd February

Imperial War Museum, Duxford     FULL

Below are some of the comments from delegates who have attended Mission Possible workshops:

"John Drewry was most enlightening, spot on and I will be using the tips straight away. Brilliant!"

"It was most refreshing to come away with something tangible that we can use."

"Very helpful day. It will change my outlook on my future work - very glad I came."

"As a clinician I feel that this kind of training is desperately needed as whilst I feel confident in my clinical capacity I lack knowledge and skills to be able to influence managers, commissioners etc"

"It was really useful to have a complete rethink about the ways of communicating so that people are encouraged to read documents."

Delegates work together to practice their new skills and are guided by John Drewry during the first Mission Possible event at the Cambridge Belfry Hotel, 22 January 2008.
