Summary

NHS East of England’s Regional Innovation Fund has been launched to support adoption and spread of the best innovations from elsewhere that are aligned to our vision Towards the best, together and delivery of our QIPP - Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention agenda.

NHS East of England is looking to encourage adoption and spread of proven innovations from elsewhere, that:

  • Will increase quality for patients
  • Will significantly improve productivity
  • Can be sustained and transferred widely across the east of England and the NHS generally, based on evidence of success
  • Able to be delivered within a six month time period, with funding allocated from June 2011 and projects implemented and outcomes reported by February 2012

Applications for schemes between £100K - £250K are invited from providing or commissioning NHS organisations or emerging GP Commissioning Consortia or GP Pathfinders from the east of England.

The applicant NHS organisation(s) will need to identify and engage with the original innovating organisation(s) outside their respective health system, to apply for funding to adapt and adopt the associate’s innovation.

Whilst each application will need to have a lead NHS organisation, partnerships with other agencies, such as local government, the third sector, private health care, education and industry would be actively encouraged.

Application Process

  • All applications will be treated in the upmostconfidence. The process is run through NHS Innovations East, Innovation Hub for the East of England
  • The guidance notes on individual sections should be read in conjunction with the application form and are designed to help you to provide the information required. Be succinct, text fields are limited to the text boxes shown and it is not possible to exceed this
  • The application form should be completed using a font size no smaller than 10 (Arial)
  • Keep the use of acronyms and technical jargon to a minimum.  Only use acronyms where a term is mentioned frequently throughout the proposal.  If you do choose to use an acronym, do not assume that the reader knows what it means, and be sure to define it, bearing in mind that individual sections of the application may be read separately during the selection process
  • In order for your application to be accepted you must submit the minimal required information.  Please make sure you complete all mandatory fields. Failure to do so will result in your application being rejected on the grounds that it is incomplete
