Health Enterprise East (HEE) has been established as part of a National Network of NHS Innovation Hubs www.nic.nhs.uk and the East of England Enterprise Hub Network, to support the private and public healthcare sectors. The NHS is the largest employer in Europe, and buyer of some £15 billion pounds of goods per year (£6 billion of which is spent on medical devices). As with other very large organisations it has a highly complex structure which can make it difficult for companies to effectively engage with clinical expertise. HEE provides a portal through which companies can access clinical expertise in the Eastern Region to develop and assess new products and services for the healthcare market.
