RadissonStanstedDiabetes: Understanding Priorities for Innovation

The fourth in Health Enterprise East’s successful series of ‘Opening Doors to the NHS’ events will focus on diabetes - its treatment and care pathway now endorsed by NICE, opportunities for further improvement and how companies’ innovative products and services can help deliver solutions for patients and the NHS.

 ‘Diabetes: Understanding Priorities for Innovation’ will be held on Thursday 22nd September at the Radisson Blu Hotel at Stansted Airport. The one-day conference is aimed at industry and NHS clinicians and has a limited attendance capacity to ensure maximum interaction between NHS clinical experts and industry attendees.

Improving Patient Care

Supporting organisations to improve patient care

NHS East of England is using its Regional Innovation Fund (RIF) to support ten
innovative projects that aim to improve patient care and efficiency across the region.
NHS organisations were given the opportunity to put forward proven innovations from
outside of their organisations to bid for funding to deliver them locally. Each innovation
had to demonstrate improvements in quality for patients; significant improvements in
productivity and evidence of success.

New Walking Frame Increases Mobility For Post-Operative Patients

An innovative design for a walking frame, created by a Senior Physiotherapist at Papworth Hospital, is set to give post-operative patients greater mobility.

The Papworth Pole has been devised by Onesmus Nyakotyo, with the help of Health Enterprise East (HEE), the regional NHS partner organisation for Innovation.

Innovation is the Key to a Better NHS
