Opening Doors to the NHS
Diabetes: Understanding Priorities for Innovation
The fourth in Health Enterprise East’s successful series of ‘Opening Doors to the NHS’ events will focus on diabetes - its treatment and care pathway now endorsed by NICE, opportunities for further improvement and how companies’ innovative products and services can help deliver solutions for patients and the NHS.
‘Diabetes: Understanding Priorities for Innovation’ will be held on Thursday 22nd September at the Radisson Blu Hotel at Stansted Airport. The one-day conference is aimed at industry and NHS clinicians and has a limited attendance capacity to ensure maximum interaction between NHS clinical experts and industry attendees.
Areas for discussion and presentations include current care pathways, the challenges of care structure and process, improving diabetes treatment in the community and making headway with long-term complications. Also covered will be the diagnosis of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, implementing personal health budgets, key requirements and requests from patients, diabetes health intelligence and the future direction of innovation in managing the condition.
So far, confirmed presentations for the day include Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Personal Health Budget Evaluation (Department of Health Programme), Diabetes UK, Diabetes Health Intelligence and Clinica Medtech Intelligence.
Dr Anne Blackwood, HEE CEO said: “In addition to an outstanding programme of speakers and excellent opportunities for networking, this conference will also showcase the latest research and technology from the field of diabetes with four timeslots throughout the day on offer to companies showcasing their technology to the audience on a first come, first served basis.”
